Our professor provided a list of influential graphic designers of the past, and had us choose one to focus on and create a homage poster for. This poster would need to encapsulate the designer's identity, ethos and artistic tendencies. On top of that, we were limited to using no more than two colors. My designer of choice was Milton Glaser. Famous for his posters and album covers for '60s music stars like Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, the covers of Hermann Hesse's books, and perhaps most importantly, the iconic 'I Love NY' logo. Up top on my poster is one of his famous quotes: "Less isn't always more". Artwork and typography done entirely on Adobe Illustrator.
