A project meant to showcase a mix of traditional illustration and graphic design. Our professor allowed us to choose any film and redesign its poster. After getting started with the one I had picked, Django Unchained, I found it difficult to come up with a concept that hadn’t been realized by other designers in their own versions of the film’s poster. In the end, I went for an aesthetic inspired by spaghetti western posters, illustrating with India ink and digitally reversing it to get my whites, using Adobe Illustrator for the typography, with the texturing being handled in Photoshop.
